The anonymity of the whole process is what's allowing for someone to be truly honest - without the fear of retribution or receiving flack.
This all started out as a project, and it soon became obvious to the creator Frank Warren that it was taking on it's own life-form as people were naturally drawn to this.
How liberating to state something that's been troubling you or to read what others have written and not judge, or care if someone is judging? True, anonymously posting your troubles might not solve them, but it does do one thing - it gives clarity and that in-itself can put someone on the path to solving their problem. Sometimes, the act of putting pen to paper also helps someone to get it off their mind and focus on the "now".
So, I just love reading PostSecret every Sunday or Monday morning. I have laughed, been shocked and admired what a lot have mailed to Frank. Some of the postcards are so touching, they've made it into a few of his books.
